The Pope may regret going to the Carmelite Monastery instead of Hubay Music Hall! This last place is where geniuses met today! Bach and Brahms were summoned by violist Wladimir Kossjanenko and pianist Ana Granik, and I can say without exaggeration that the latter are brilliant too! (I don’t normally use that word, only very rarely, in exceptional cases.) The performance of the Split-based, Russian violist of Ukrainian descent, who was born in Alma-Ata but describes himself more as a Viennese, and the pianist, who came from Croatia was frenetic. Chaconne (No.2) movement of Bach’s Violin Partita in D minor for solo viola – incredibly focused, lush-sounding dramatic music with exuberant outbursts and soul-crushing lyrics. We learned that Bach mourns the loss of his first wife in it from the informative and gratifying comments of the composer and music historian Armand Tóth (an exciting viola concerto with piano by him)… Brahms was not in a good mood either when he finished his last work, the Sonata in E-flat major (op.120, no.2) was written for clarinet and reworked for viola a little later after the loss of his two sons. Vladimir Kossyanenko’s technique and expressiveness are not only impressive, his style is also amazing. It’s elegant, measured while totally devoted to the music it creates. And Ana Granik plays everything with ease and accompanies like no other – the violist says about her. We’ve known that for a long time, because Ana has played the piano several times in Marcella Detvay’s music salons. A Pápa sajnálhatja, hogy a Karmelita Kolostorba ment a Hubay Zeneterem helyett! Ma ugyanis ez utóbbi helyen zsenik adtak találkozót egymásnak! Bach és Brahms volt megidézve Wladimir Kossjanenko brácsás és Ana Granik zongorista által, és minden túlzás nélkül állíthatom, hogy az utóbbiak is zseniálisak! (Nem szoktam használni ezt a szót, csak nagyon ritkán, kivételes esetekben.) A ma Splitben élő, alma-atai születésű, de magát inkább bécsinek tartó, ukrán nevű orosz brácsaművész, és a Horvátországból érkezett zongoraművész teljesítménye frenetikus volt. Bach d-moll hegedűpartitájának Chaconne (No.2) tétele a magányos brácsán - hihetetlen tömény, pazar hangzású drámai zene, tomboló kitörésekkel és lélekbe maró lírával. Tóth Armand zeneszerző (tőle is elhangzott izgalmas brácsaverseny zongorával), és zenetörténész informatív és élvezetes kommentárjaiból megtudtuk, hogy Bach első feleségét siratja benne... Brahms sem volt jókedvében, amikor az utolsónak befejezett művét, az Esz-dúr Szonátáját (Op.120, No.2) írta klarinétra, majd kicsit később brácsára átdolgozva, két fiának elvesztése után. Wladimir Kossjanenkonak nem csak technikája és kifejezőkészsége lenyűgöző, hanem stílusa is bámulatos. Elegáns, kimért, miközben teljesen átadja magát az általa keltett zenének. Ana Granik pedig mindent lejátszik könnyedén, és úgy kísér, ahogy senki - mondta róla a brácsaművész. Mi ezt régóta tudjuk, mert Ana többször zongorázott már Detvay Marcella zeneszalonjaiban. Tegye ezt minél gyakrabban, kérjük...
